Anke Scheper – Forestry Expert
“I find it fascinating to see how interactions between ecological and socio-economic variables create complexity, but also offer potential for the recovery of crucial ecosystems. I am currently involved in a forest landscape restoration project in Northern Uganda, where we’re working to rehabilitate a degraded forest reserve. Our approach combines sustainable plantation forestry with natural regeneration activities, but also includes empowering self-organized community groups to engage in beekeeping and improved farming practices. This landscape-based approach is what makes working at Form International so rewarding. Through my work on a wide range of consultancy projects, including social and environmental impact assessments, forest and carbon certification support, and business plan development, I’ve gained a deep understanding of the sector. This enables me to translate complex data into actionable insights that drive effective conservation and development initiatives.”
