Project
In October 2017, 33 forestry professionals were intensively trained at Form Ghana’s training centre in Berekum. Because of its great success in October 2016, a follow-up and advanced course was organized by Form Ghana on Advanced Fire Management & Commercial Reforestation Management. The subjects for this training were: Advanced fire training, fire ecology training and advanced silviculture. Important subjects for the developing forest plantation industry in Ghana. Participants are professionals of Form Ghana Ltd., Forestry Commission, Miro Forestry, Newmont Golden Ridge Ltd, 2iis Plantation Ltd, and technicians of University of Energy and Natural Resources in Sunyani. All are organizations and companies who have set the target to replant or take care of Ghana’s forests.
Our role

Trainee Matthew Essuman, supervisor at Form Ghana: “This training has added to my capacities and confidence as a forester and supervisor. For example, during firefighting activities I am surer about what I am doing because I now have the practical and theoretical skill to base my decisions on. I know exactly what I am supposed to do in a certain situation and which options I have.”
