History
Form International was established in 1992 and is seated in The Netherlands. The firm started as a consultancy firm advising the forestry and timber trade sector on the practical implementation of Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) of natural forests, forest certification (FSC, PEFC, legal compliance), timber trade and reforestation. Today, through our projects and associate partners, our experts are active in many countries worldwide.
We were involved as the advisor to the first (FSC) certifications in tropical Africa, Indonesia, Eastern Europe and South America. The firm also played a significant role in developing and promoting the adoption of Reduced Impact Logging (RIL) in Africa. Experience in Africa, Southeast-Asia and Latin America with reforestation and forest plantations was gained through project design, establishment, management, and delivery of technical and financial advice.
Our headquarter is based in Hattem, the Netherlands, in the historical building ‘t Kalverveen at the edge of the Veluwe, one of the largest nature and forest areas in the Netherlands.
We are proud to employ a team of talented, motivated and highly qualified specialists with global experience. In addition, we work with a wide pool of international associate experts. Visit our People pages to get to know our team and our Supervisory Board or contact us directly to discuss how we can advance your forestry project or asset!
Form International is a proud partner of Form Ghana, SFI (Sustainable Forestry Investments) and SFI Tanzania. Form International initiated the reforestation project in 2001 in Ghana which evolved into the company Form Ghana. Form Ghana was the first FSC certified plantation company in West Africa and today manages around 19,407 hectares of formerly degraded forest landscapes. Additionally, we initiated a reforestation project in Tanzania in 2013: SFI Tanzania. Two sisal estates of over 9,000 hectares were acquired. On these estates, reforestation plans are rolled out and the existing sisal fields are improved and expanded for continuous sisal production and processing. Its product (sisal fibre) is being sold on international markets and provides a stable income for the company and its surrounding communities.
SFI is the investment company behind the reforestation projects of Form Ghana and SFI Tanzania. Form International provides technical support to SFI towards bankable project designs and due diligence processes.
Together, Form International, SFI, Form Ghana, and SFI Tanzania, although separate entities, form a network of partners that jointly enable state-of-the-art forestry advisory, forest asset management and forestry investment.
Today Form International is a leading forestry and climate advisory and forest asset management firm with a broad project portfolio.
