Sustainable Forestry Investments

Impact on nature's future
There are lots of opportunities in the field of sustainability worldwide that require great thinking. And this is what Sustainable Forestry Investments (SFI) does best: foreseeing great opportunities and act upon these. SFI operates on a large scale, and this is exactly why we are able to make a difference. We restore degraded land by reforesting forests and sisal and by producing high-quality timber and sisal products. We operate in Tanzania and Ghana, where we currently manage over 30,000 hectares of land that will be fully restored in a sustainable way.
We succeed in our ambitious plans by managing the land in a Public Private Partnership that we have with governments, both national and locally, and traditional landowners. Besides, we co-operate with third parties, such as development banks and climate funds. This is a proven succesful concept with a favorable return on blended investment. Already 30,000 hectares have successfully been restored. Our long-term approach, combined with the large scale on which we operate, requires a far-sighted vision of both SFI and our partner investors. We are ready to start a dialogue today, to invest in the future of tomorrow.
Vision
SFI aims to develop new forest plantations, agro-forestry plantations and agricultural land uses in Africa on degraded lands with a clear high level ecological and social sustainable impact. We restore vast areas of degraded land and bring back the productivity of the land in such a way that communities, the local government and all relevant stakeholders share this approach and become a sound partner. We use a unique concept for this which meets the highest standards of sustainability.
Mission
In the next years SFI will become Africa’s frontrunning company in land restoration and reforestation. Producing the best timber in a sustainable way with local partners and communities. SFI contributes to the sustainable development goals (SDGs) and AFR100 goals by restoring 100 million ha of degraded land in Africa in 2030. We are eager to demonstrate the great opportunity of landscape restoration in Africa through sustainable forestry, agro-forestry and agricultural investments as proven concept and successful business case.
Unique approach
The unique investment concept consists of three pillars. First, SFI establishes a good relationship with traditional landowners, farmers and the population in the area. Secondly, SFI respects respects high level ecological and environmental standards. Lastly, we develop forest plantations in such a way that this leads to an increase of financial-economical values and the target return on investment.
